SEIKO and Your SEIKO Moments

Advertorial

SEIKO, a name that’s no stranger to us I believe, has been around since 1924! In fact, the company was founded in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a watch & jewelry shop called K. Hattori, in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha, which the closest meaning in English translation would be “House of Exquisite Workmanship”. According to Seiko’s official company history, titled “A Journey in Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko” (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning “exquisite”, “minute” or “success”.

The first watches produce under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. Most of us reading my blog are probably not born yet. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world’s first production quartz watch, when it was produced, it cost the same as a medium-sized car! Wow, it’s a luxury to own a Seiko!!!

If you would like to find out more about the history of Seiko, you can always turn to the world wide web. It’s actually quite interesting to read about the history of companies.

So, my parents are actually fans of Seiko, and even my boyfriend also has a Seiko watch! Just to showcase 2 out of all the Seiko watches which we own.

Ta Da!

This watch belongs to my mum. It’s more than 20 years old!!! Just slightly younger than me. Guess what, the durability of Seiko watches are so ****** good, my mum told me the watch has NEVER been sent for repair at all. Of course, battery will run out after some time since this isn’t an automatic watch. Therefore, I deduce that the durability of Seiko watches are S.U.P.E.R.B.

And do you have any idea who are some of the famous people who wears Seiko?

We have the vampire girl Kristen Stewart.

Daniel Wu

Lee-Hom

Apparently, Kristen Stewart is often seen wearing Seiko watches. Bet you didn’t know that! She’s seen above wearing a Seiko SJB880 watch.

Now, the extremely exciting part is where you will get a chance to win a Seiko watch worth $600!!!!

Is this easy or what?? If you’re going for Sundown Marathon, good for you. Capture as many wonderful Seiko moments as you can and remember to follow Seiko on instragram @seikosg . Don’t forget to hashtag #seikosg when you upload your pic.

Get your friends to ‘like’ your photo. Super easy right?

If you’re not heading to Sundown, this is what you can do too. Just take a photo of yourself with the flyer. The flyer above is great for you to download and print it out. That’s what I did.

I’m seen wearing a men’s Seiko 5 Sports Racer 21 Jewels Automatic watch.
